NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) refers to inspection techniques that detect defects without damaging the component being inspected. This course provides NDT appreciation covering principles, applications, capabilities, and limitations of each method, though it's not a certification course for NDT personnel.

EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection System) inspection is the examination of aircraft electrical wiring, connectors, terminals, and related components for damage, deterioration, or improper installation. EWIS inspections are critical for preventing electrical system failures and potential fire hazards. This course covers EWIS inspection requirements, techniques for identifying wire damage, chafing, corrosion, improper repairs, and typical EWIS defects found during maintenance inspections.

Common defects found during aircraft inspections include corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, delamination, loose or missing fasteners, fluid leaks, worn components, electrical wire damage, chafing, improper installations, missing safety wire, damaged seals, surface deterioration, and impact damage. Structural defects may include skin damage, frame cracks, and spar issues. Systems defects include hydraulic leaks, worn bearings, and damaged components. This training familiarizes participants with typical defects and detection methods.

B1 license (Mechanical) authorizes holders to issue certificates of release to service following maintenance on aircraft structures, powerplant, mechanical and electrical systems. B2 license (Avionics) authorizes holders to certify work on avionic and electrical systems including navigation, communication, flight control systems, and instruments. This course covers the roles and inspection responsibilities of both B1 and B2 engineers in EASA Part-145 maintenance organisations.

This course provides NDT appreciation and theoretical understanding but does NOT certify participants to perform NDT inspections. Actual NDT certification requires specialized practical training, examinations, and certification according to standards like EN4179 (aerospace) or ISO 9712.
